Editorial policy as of 20th June, 2011
We at Features TV have a clear aim: to tell the stories people want to see and hear.
Our reports add colour, human interest and often a sense of surprise to news bulletins.
Our features do not replace core news, they complement it, and provide a fresh or different perspective on mainstream stories and issues.
In times of great change for traditional newsgathering, we aim to provide enhanced global coverage of stories that matter to audiences everywhere.
This is why we aim to report the unreported and give a voice to the unheard.
Journalistic principles and integrity are therefore at the core of what we do.
Features TV journalists use the following code of ethics in our reporting:
1. We adhere to the journalistic principles of honesty, courage, fairness, balance, independence and credibility.
2. We tell the truth, unequivocally.
3. In reporting a story, we present a clear, factual and accurate picture whilst giving full consideration to the feelings of victims, their relatives and other potential viewers.
4. We report stories with no bias or partiality.
5. We recognise and respect diversity.
6. We distinguish between news, opinion and analysis to avoid propaganda.
7. We will promptly acknowledge a mistake when it occurs, and promptly correct it.
8. We shall defend and promote press freedom internationally.
Finally, we thrive on feedback, so please do not hesitate to tell us what you think.
